Meesha Brown is a good fairy, career educator and advocate of quality education for all students. Meesha has served in schools and communities as a teacher, instructional leader, and community partner. As a Senior Instructional Coach for the NYC Department of Education, Meesha led early piloting of the Common Core State Standards in NYC public schools focused on the implications for secondary literacy instruction. Meesha served as Director of Literacy for the NYC Department of Education, working with colleagues across teams to refine policy and improve support for schools and networks during the district’s shift to the Common-Core.

Meesha has consults with a range of organizations, states, and districts on education initiatives and sits on The American Museum of Natural History’s Moving NGSS into Practice Advisory Board.
